About

Although a few friends have been discussing the creation of a non-profit since 2014, we recently took steps to begin EnjoinGood.org in November of 2015.  There are currently over 80 members discussing how to move the project forward.  There is a saying in our culture that decisions made by consensus can’t be wrong, and although a little slower, this is the route we are taking.  Thanks for being patient with us as we develop avenues for social activism, building bridges in the community, and charitable giving.

So what’s our purpose? We believe that everyone innately wants to do good but doing so often isn’t as easy as it should be.  We want to remove these barriers and make it simple to help fellow Muslims help themselves and those around us.  The Quran, and our Prophets including Muhammad, Jesus, Moses, and Abraham, peace be upon them, say that its incumbent on all Muslims to be valuable members of our local communities and to be good neighbors to those of all faiths and creeds.  We also believe that the good we do in this world, pays us back in dividends as people receive the benefits of our good deeds, even after we pass.  Our logo represents this infinite cycle of good.

How do we plan to accomplish enjoining good?  We are implementing a forum for crowdfunding local charities and building a network for volunteer opportunities in areas of Social Activism, Civil Rights, Interfaith Outreach, New Muslim Support, and Youth Services.  As we build our membership, we will increase our reach as members take on additional responsibility.

Thanks for your interest in EnjoinGood.org and peace be with you.

  1. I attended an event by Enjoingood.org last year after the 2016 election. I was delighted with the community of people i met and shared with for an afternoon. I even saw the Prayer area of the Mosque; the young women who escorted me about showed me copies of the Koran which i had never seen before or held in my hands.

As a politically progressive caucasian, raised in the Catholic Church as a child, i was curious and welcomed the opportunity at learn about “The American Muslim”. It was worth the one hour drive. It was worth the wealth of information, new learning and a new friend, Asima.

I work with Western Mass. Code Pink Women for Peace. After having met Asima, i/we invited her to be a keynote speaker at our annual International Women’s Day event last year. She accepted our invitation and brought her husband as well! She was able to compress her hour presentation into a 20 min. abridged version. Our audience loved it.

    1. I’m happy to agree with Susan (above) who says how valuable EnjoinGood.Org and Asima’s work is. I have heard her speak with a passion for community building and peaceful coexistence that is rare and so necessary these days. We must join hands with her organization and “be good neighbors to those of all faiths and creeds” (which is what the Holy Quran and our various prophets declare, as noted above).

Peace to all who join our efforts (from a Jew who converted from Quakerism 21 years ago) –
      Raphael
